The one problem I have with my workplace

I have a lot of reasons to be thankful for my job.

I’m finally making a decent amount of pay that I can live off of.

There’s also clearly a chance of advancement. I also love what I do. I work in an office and I address customer concerns and try and find ways to fix them or find other people that can fix them. I have a lot of resources at my disposal to help customers and it always feels great when we get to the bottom of the situation and resolve it. The office itself is pretty comfortable and I have a nice desk and a nice ergonomic chair. We also have pretty fancy computers, but there’s just one problem. The air conditioning unit is permanently set to max or at least that’s how it feels to me. It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is I have to go into that office with a couple extra layers on to stay at least somewhat warm. None of us have any control of the thermostat so we really don’t know who to blame. Some employees actually enjoy the cold and anytime somebody complains about it they’re quick to ask how we would like it if there was no air conditioning at all; surely this is better, right? Well it’s not that I have a problem with air conditioning, it’s that I have a problem with working in a refrigerator and there’s a difference. One of these days I’m going to work up the courage to ask a manager who controls the thermostat and why they insist on having us working in an ice box.
