The last job of the day wasn't a big deal at all

I was feeling under the weather for a couple of weeks, but last Friday I finally stopped fighting.

I woke up in the morning and I felt positively terrible. I had a slight fever and the chills. I didn’t want to go to work, but I ended up getting dressed and going. My boss was happy to see me even if I looked like death. He sent me with a co-worker to check on an HVAC repair issue. The two of us spent most of the day on the HVAC repair. When we were finished, I was hopeful that my boss would send me home for the day. Instead, he asked me to check on an air purifier problem. We have several air purifiers rented to businesses in the valley. We service the air purifiers two times every week. This specific air purifier was due for service the next day but it was making a strange beeping sound and my boss wanted to check it out today. He told me that I could go home when the problem was fixed. I didn’t know if the job would take 1 hour or 5 hours. I went to the east strip mall to a small store that sells video games and other electronics. I spoke to the owner of the shop for a few minutes and then I went to the back to look at the air purifier. I quickly noticed the beeping sound. I reset the machine and the beeping stopped. I waited 10 or 15 minutes to see if the beeping started again, but restarting the machine solved the problem. I was happy to go home after a quick 20-minute repair.
