The technology that abounds in the printing business is just astounding.
We are a small, local printing company with roots in the area for over 35 years.
While our business mainly thrived due to our unique decorative solutions, the printing business itself changed focus. Never did a business our size think we could actually fill label printing in the multiple thousands. Our core was traditional business printing. We did tons of custom sign printing, as well as, enjoyed a good business in the promotional market. As the technology changed, we could see ahead that a smaller company could position itself to fill large regional orders. Label making was a way forward for us. Investing in the most versatile, yet space manageable equipment allowed us to compete at a price point that many national brands were occupying. By leveraging our original pedigree of in house design capability, we were able approach regional companies about doing their product label making. We invested in Bepop, HIX and Gerber technology. They were considered to be cutting edge leaders in both large and short run label making. Soon, we actually were spending a bigger and bigger amount of our time soliciting and landing accounts that were larger than anything we could have ever dreamed of a few decads prior. The ability to reduce lead time due to design alteration was excellent. This allowed us to spend more time building our sales. With the new label printing gear, we were able to hire additional staff for strictly production purposes. Just the savings in space is more than I can get my head around. This new printing technology has allowed us to maximize or production space by such a huge margin. It looks like label printing will be great.
