I have seen some undoubtedly sketchy things in the corporation world over my life, but there was nothing that had myself and others as disgusted as the last HVAC heating & cooling supplier that I worked for, then after finishing up my training to become a certified HVAC repairman, I was desperate to find a job, but when I was gave my first full time job from a small HVAC corporation in the south I accepted right away & started working the following week, then over time however, I began to see the corporation practices that the upper management were teaching to the store managers, who were teaching the boys at the bottom love me, but during training they would tell us to install older & less reliable cooling system units when the people I was with and I were out on calls, because the more often that the cooling system equipment breaks down or needs a repair, the more often the people I was with and I will be needed.
Along with this sketchy tactic, they told us to give as little detail as possible about the cooling system units themselves so they don’t want to as you any follow up questions, then even though I was a rookie in the HVAC industry, I understood just how terrible this was & I wanted no part of it, but the actually next day I turned in my resignation & began searching for another opportunity.
That was years ago now, & I have gone on to have a solid job in the HVAC industry so far. As for the supplier I used to work for, I heard that they were shut down not long after I quit, & many people who worked there were arrested… I am glad that I got out while I could, because that is not a path in life that I even want to believe about!
