I like to think I have a pretty wonderful analogy for SEO. Think of it like this: imagine you are at a party, and there’s a group of all your friends and the owner of the house. During this party there are many different conversations going on, but you only want to talk about your Heating & A/C business – or your side job as a clown. We’ll assume the former, okay? Point is, you want people to agree that your Heating & A/C company is the best, right? So what you do to get the conversation flowing that way is simple enough. First, you have to start introducing the topic to one person and hope it spreads! Sometimes, you might slip a $5 to a neighbor, just to chat about your Heating & A/C corporation with their friends. You try get various people agreeing that your Heating & A/C company is the go-to business for all HVAC needs. If enough people are talking about it, the owner of the house declares it to be true! What if there is someone at the party that they don’t trust when it comes to discussing your Heating & A/C business? That is when you get out of the party, right? Slipping that neighbor a crisp $5 bill is SEM that you might do for your business. This is a paid advertisement, solely for the Heating & A/C supplier. Introducing the topic to friends is how the website ranks better on search engines like Google, Yahoo or Bing. The talk is really using things like targeting keywords, websites that are optimised, or wonderful customer interaction. With all those factors in play, you get more traffic to the site! Of course, the homeowner in this scenario would be the search engine. Impress the homeowner, and you’ve done well!
