The male athletes always want to do arm heavy exercises rather than legs.
I am a personal trainer and I specialize is sport fitness classes. I work one on one with athletes who want to better themselves in sports. I work with college gymnastics, swimmers, and tennis players. But, I also work with whole teams as well. I have worked with every age level of team too. The elementary level is adorable. The kids have so much energy and enthusiasm for any exercise I give them. It is a lot of competing and playing around. The middle schoolers are a bit more resistant but see greater results. That age group tends to have excess weight around the middle and legs to lose. My exercises really challenge the kids and if done right, can really improve their game. The high school and college level is the best to work with though. Those athletes actually understand what I am trying to do. I target exercises to each athlete to help improve their game. Not every athlete needs more cardio. Not every guy on the team should be lifting weights. Also, people tend to skip areas of their body that they don’t like to work out. The male athletes always want to do arm heavy exercises rather than legs. I have to push the lady athletes on abdominal drills. But, at the older age levels, they listen to me and all try to do it. They get how I as a personal trainer can really help them. The younger age levels treat me like a pesky teacher in school that they don’t have to listen to.
