My husband and I tried to have children for seven years before we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy.

We love him more than words could ever express. I had been told all of my life how much work babies are, but nothing quite prepared me for the real thing. It was definitely a change for us, especially since we were kid-free for over seven years of our marriage. Mark is actually a really good baby, but like all babies, he is a lot of work. I don’t think that I have ever been this sleep-deprived in my entire life. It is awful. I feel like a zombie most of the time. Even though it is really hard, I would not trade being a mom for anything. I love my little man so much. One of the best ways that we keep Mark entertained is by placing him in front of our fireplace. I never thought that a fireplace could entertain a baby, but it certainly can. Mark will literally sit in front of our fireplace for hours each day. He loves to watch it, and it is the cutest thing. My husband thinks it is hilarious how much little Mark likes fireplaces. He says that we should buy one for every room of the house. That would be nice, but it is not exactly reasonable. I would like to get one more fireplace for our kitchen since it is quite chilly in there, and Mark would be entertained while I cook if we got one. I have never loved fireplaces so much in my life.
