I worked outside doing construction for a few years before I went back to university.
Those working conditions were radically different from what I experience on a weekly basis now.
It was so nice to come beach house & relax in the air conditioner after baking in the sunshine all day. The construction task site is rife with argument & expressive opinions. I was simply never able to get comfortable in that type of situation. However, I will say that at least those co-workers could be far more genuine & way less political. My modern office is full of politics & weekly drama. I am genuinely fortunate to have one of the only work spaces which has a door I can close. Otherwise, the entire floor system is cubicle land. I rest back & watch periodically from our vantage point behind glass walls. Watching these people go to war over the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C thermostat never stops surprising me. There have actually been chances where I had to physically separate people over the temperature of our floor. And, it appears this angst is here to stay. So, I’ve been doing our homework to cure these Heating, Ventilation, & A/C battles. I brought in a heating & cooling pro who came up with an excellent solution. He proposed every one of us update the existing plan to a zoned control Heating, Ventilation, & A/C capability. Through the use of electronic dampers & vents, the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C company can transform our heating & cooling. Through this minor update every one of us will be able to create 4 separate zones that are then independently controlled with their own thermostat. The Heating, Ventilation, & A/C crew is coming in over the weekend to make the changes. I can’t wait to see the reaction on Thursday.
