Ever since I finished high school I have been working at the same old HVAC heating and cooling company installing air conditioning units into peoples houses.
This job requires plenty of focus and hard work, not to mention skill when it comes to all HVAC units. Back then I thought that I would love doing this type of work, mostly due to the fact that my father had worked as a certified HVAC repairman his entire life. I had grown up watching him truly loves his job and he was always telling me that I would be perfect for that line of work. Unfortunately for me, my experience has not been as good as I had hoped it would be. The work itself isn’t too bad, but the thing that has been killing me the most is the work environment. In your average company, managers as well as employees are all working to boost employee morale and satisfaction. At my company, however it is a cutthroat environment that promotes heated competition and a stressful environment all year round. I have zero friends here and it always feels as if someone is trying to plot something behind your back in order to benefit only themselves. To me it is simply madness! That might be the type of environment that some people would like this type of thing, however for me it has been miserable. It has gotten so bad over the past few months that I am considering just giving it a rest and finding another job to work at. I had always dreamed of being an HVAC repairman growing up, but I think this type of career just isn’t for me.
