I labor the night shift at a 24-minute convenience store.
We are not quite as busy during this time compared to the day shift, but every one of us still have a steady trickle of customers throughout the night.
My first problem when taking up this job offer was safety, however I recognize every one of us live in a neighborhood that has a low crime rate. I do not recognize I would have taken this job in more dangerous citys. Because of the small amount of customers, the job is quite peaceful, if not a little boring. I often find myself doing a little bit of labor here plus there when I am not needed at the register, not because I am particularally interested in making the day shift people’s lives easier the next day, but because there’s little else to do. A few nights ago, something quite frustratedting had happened. The a/c device legitimately offered out during the shift before mine. As you may have guessed, every one of us were not able to call out an HVAC professional until the following day. This, of course meant that me plus the other guy on the night shift would have to suffer with no a/c for the entire shift, and perhaps this would not have been so hard to do were it not the middle of June! The nights high was 74 degrees plus there was a lot of humidity! I never realized just how comfortable our a/c device kept us during the shift. That was pretty much the most miserable shift I’ve had at this job so far, plus I was quite thankful when the a/c device was repaired by my next night shift!
