I used to care about reading the Reader’s Digest.
One of my number one parts of the magazine was LIfe in These United States.
They would always have crazy little stories that people write in pertaining to actual things that happened in their residences. There were short stories & anecdotes that consistently kept myself and others laughing. Now, I watch TV shows that are written & probably were based on stories from the Reader’s Digest. Last week, I watched one where the man was trying to find out where the ‘ghost’ was originating from. Everyone in the boarding home was completely afraid to go near the basement. They said there was a crazy ghost down there. One kid absolutely said that he saw the ghost because it was in his room most of the time. The older guy found a false door in the room & it led down to the basement. Regrettably, the door closed behind him when he got down in the basement & he was unable to turn around & he became easily trapped behind the oil heating machine. This wasn’t too awful until the oil furnace turned. The young kid was there with him & he kept saying that maybe the heat would melt enough fat off the guy so he would be able to squeeze from behind the oil furnace. I had to laugh when I saw that episode because it was quite a bit like the story in the magazine. I’m sure nothing like that, especially with the oil heating machine turning on & the guy finally being able to get out, would absolutely happen. I sincerely hope the man this absolutely happened to, didn’t see the episode & become embarrassed.
