For the past 10 years, I spent my time working as a full-time heating and air conditioning repair technician.
I liked the job a lot and I felt that I was constantly challenged at work.
Unfortunately, I had an accident in my vehicle and I can no longer physically handle the job of a heating and air conditioning repair technician. I had to find a different job that requires more knowledge and less physical exertion. I searched for months and months, and then a very unique opportunity fell into my lap. My mom is a realtor and she works for a large real estate company in town. They have a lot of rental properties including apartments, condos, and houses. My mom found out that one of the apartment buildings was looking for a maintenance supervisor. My mom thought I would be perfect for the job, because the maintenance supervisor had to be certified in HVAC repairs. I called the manager for the apartment building and I set up an appointment to have an interview. The guy really liked my resume and he thought I would be able to learn the things that I did not know. I had a little bit of knowledge in plumbing and electrical repairs, but the bulk of my knowledge was certainly heating and air conditioning repairs. I’ll learn more and more information as I work and the rental maintenance area. I’ve already learned how to rebuild a toilet from the ground up and nex tweek I’m going to start painting all of the backyard patios.
