I am debating on buying a new vehicle because my air conditioning went in my old clunker

For some reason, I have always driven old cars.

I actually do not mind having to driver older cars at all as long as they get my from point A to point B. The vehicle I have now is twenty years old this year. It is still sound mechanically. I have only had to do minor repairs on it throughout the years, and I am so thankful for it. I told myself that I would not buy a new car until I could not rely on the one I have now anymore. Last Monday, the air conditioning stopped working in my car, and I was quite concerned. It is really hot here during the summer months, and I do not think I could drive a car without air conditioning all summer long. I took my car to a mechanic and asked if he would diagnose the issue. He found a leak in an air conditioning line. He told me that the line needed to be replaced, and that it would not be easy to get to. When I asked for the estimate of how much it would cost to repair the air conditioning line, I realized that it was more than my car is worth. I am debating on just selling my car and getting a new one with working AC. It makes total sense to just sell the car, but I am hesitating because I love the car so much. I have had it for over ten years, and I am attached. I know I should sell it, so I probably will put it up for sale within the week, but it will be hard for me. I never realized how expensive replacing air conditioning lines are.
