Home automation system includes thermostat and makes life easier

My life is extremely hectic.

My husband and I both work very demanding jobs.

We have four children who are heavily involved in sports. We seem to spend the majority of our time in the car, at work and sitting on uncomfortable bleachers. We often neglect the laundry, grocery shopping and cleaning. The beds are never made, and we rarely enjoy a home-cooked meal. There is no extra time to handle repairs around the house. I need to make sure that everything is running smoothly. I have invested in a home automation system, which has made everyday life so much easier. All of the important systems and appliances are now linked to a central hub, which is accessible from my cell phone. Whether I’m at home or not, I have control over lights, door locks, heating, cooling, surveillance cameras and more. The home is set up to automatically adjust temperature, security and lights according to our regular schedule. I’m no longer paying to run the air conditioner at maximum capacity when the house is empty. I don’t need to worry that if I turn down the furnace in the morning, my family will come home to freezing cold house at the end of the day. Plus, the home automation system includes sensors which know when we’re almost home and which rooms are unoccupied. The system automatically makes changes to indoor and outdoor lighting and the thermostat. I get alerts through text message when the kids arrive home safely from school and reminders for maintenance needs, such as HVAC filter changes. Cameras provide real time video so that I can see who’s standing at my doorstep.
