I have been looking for the perfect beach house for years now and I think I may have finally found it.
It doesn’t get very cold where I live so I don’t really care about the HVAC system, but my wife really does. When we were looking for a beach house she really wanted there to be some kind of fireplace. I kept making fun of her because it seemed weird that we would have a fireplace in our summer home. After talking to my friend that works as an HVAC technician I changed my mind about the fire place. He explained that since we don’t really need something as strong as a furnace it might save us money to have a fireplace on those cold nights. We found a house that actually had a gas fireplace and my wife fell in love. She told me she could see her self basking in the AC filled sunroom during the day and then at night sitting in front of the fireplace. This did sound nice to me, so we ended up buying the house solely based on the HVAC system! We had our HVAC friend come over and take a look at the house before we bought it and he said everything looked good. The owner even installed a new AC unit before he listed it for sale, which is nice for us because air conditioners are not cheap these days. I think I will really like having an fireplace and I can’t wait for those cold summer nights to test it out.
