Glad it Tore Up

Thank goodness he did, too, because it just so happened that the thermostat was exactly where the problem was.

If you’re like me and you’re always looking for ways to save a little bit of money, you might want to take a look at getting a new thermostat system for your house. Our thermostat was at least twenty years old. It was one of those old round ones that you twist to get the heating or the air conditioning set to the right temperature. It was super ugly, too. Well, when our heating and cooling system started malfunctioning, the first thing my husband decided to check was the old thermostat. Thank goodness he did, too, because it just so happened that the thermostat was exactly where the problem was. We thought at first that we were going to have to pay thousands of dollars for heating and A/C repair work or, heaven forbid, to buy a new HVAC system for our house. And then it turned out that we only had to spend about $85 for a newer digital programmable thermostat unit. Not only was it a cheap fix for us, but over the past few months that we’ve had the digital programmable thermostat, our heating and air conditioning bills have been significantly lower! Apparently, when you run your HVAC system on a regular schedule, it helps to maintain the temperature throughout your home. That, in turn, keeps your furnace and your central air conditioning from having to work so hard to raise and lower the temperatures in your house and you save energy (and money) as a result! I’m really glad that our old thermostat unit tore up!
