Getting air conditioner fixed in time for grand opening of diner

I recently bought and renovated an old-fashioned diner.

I invested quite a bit of money into replacing the floors, booths, tables, countertop and stools.

I also upgraded the commercial appliances, including the dishwasher, cooler, freezer, deep-fryer and oven. Prior to the grand opening, I got my cooks and waitresses together so that we could all sample the different items on the menu. I wanted everyone to have the opportunity to taste everything from the pancakes to the apple pie and milk shakes and make suggestions. This turned out to be a smart decision for a lot reasons. We came up with a lot of great ideas to improve the selection on the menu as well as the flavor and presentation of the items. We also discovered a problem with the air conditioner. During the renovation project, I never dared start up the air conditioner due to all of the dust. With the ovens and fryers running, the diner heated up considerable. Although I turned the thermostat down, the air conditioner was unable to provide enough cool air to make the place feel comfortable. Plus, the diner features exposed ductwork, which made a very unpleasant rattling sound overhead. At certain tables, the noise of the ducts was loud enough to drown out the music. I immediately called a local HVAC contractor to arrange a repair. I was very lucky to have plenty of time for parts to be ordered and installed before the grand opening. The repair was rather expensive but certainly necessary. On the day of the grand opening, the outside temperature was eighty-four degrees. The inside of the diner was perfectly cool.
