Furnace is jammed

I used to love studying the Reader’s Digest.

One of my preferred parts of the magazine was LIfe in These United States of America.

They always provided crazy little stories that people write pertaining to actual events in their households. There were short stories and anecdotes that always kept me laughing non-stop. Now, I watch TV shows that are written and must have been based on stories from the Reader’s Digest. The other week, I watched a single one where the girl was trying to find out where the ‘ghost’ was coming from. Everyone in the boarding house was entirely afraid of going near the basement. They said there was a ghost down there. One kid genuinely said that she saw the ghost because it was in her room on a regular basis. The older girl found a false door in the room and it led right down to the basement. Regrettably, the door closed behind her when she got down in the basement and she was unable to turn around and she became stuck behind the gas furnace. This wasn’t too terrible until the gas furnace turned on. The young kid was there with her and she kept saying that maybe the heat would melt enough fat off the girl so she could easily squeeze from behind the gas furnace. I had to laugh when I saw that episode because it was precisely like the story in the magazine. I’m sure nothing quite like that, especially with the gas furnace turning on and the girl finally being able to get out, would genuinely happen. I hope the girl this actually happened to, didn’t see the episode and become embarrassed.
