My hubby works as an HVAC professional in our town, and he tells the most horrendous stories about the people he has to deal with while laboring in HVAC, then being an HVAC professional requires a lot of purchaser service skills because you are laboring directly with people to find a solution to their HVAC problems. My hubby trained for years to become a certified HVAC professional, however most people belittle the work that he does. When he comes to their beach house early in the day to repair their oil furnace or a/c, they don’t realize how much training and strenuous work it took for him to learn how to diagnose and repair the problem with their HVAC unit. When he fixed it in 30 minutes, he expects to get paid a sizable amount of currency! You aren’t just paying an hourly rate for a non-skilled worker. You are paying an HVAC professional who had to learn for nearly a decade to be able to repair your oil furnace in 30 minutes. Another proper problem that he faces is when people are rude to him. When he tells them what he thinks is wrong with their oil furnace or a/c, they instantly get defensive. With all their experience, they should be able to guess what is wrong with their HVAC component and how much it should cost. Thankfully, our hubby is a patient.
