This year, I’ve committed to living a minimalist lifestyle, and i made this severe decision last year, when I realized my beach house and life was stuffed full of unnecessary items that I didn’t need.
- I found myself constantly chasing and buying things that would only provide myself and others temporary satisfaction in my life! Not only this, however my anxiety was worse than ever.
It was a vigorous cycle, and my therapist is the 1 who advocated going minimal; The process was long and hard, despite the fact that I guess more fulfilled and more lightweight than ever. The first thing I did, was sell my apartment and all the furniture in it. Instead, I bought myself a tiny home. This has forced myself and others to get rid of anything that isn’t’ essential, however when I was building my tiny home, I decided to keep the interior minimal as well. There’s 1 bedroom and 1 lavatory, a small kitchen, and a few portable Heating and Air Conditioning units to keep the place heated and cooled. Thankfully, I live in a region where the weather is moderate all year round. I don’t face severe winters or humid summer time heat. I have a natural temperature control, also known as my windows, on the afternoons where the temperature drops below 30 degrees, I turn on my portable heater. On a precious summer time day where the temperature rises above 90 degrees, I whip out some portable fans and a portable A/C unit… My new beach house is so small, that it doesn’t take much to heat or cool my entire place.
