If you are a trusting person like me, you might want to be a little more careful when it comes to who you let into your house.
This last year I needed to get a new AC unit installed and it went horribly wrong.
I picked the first HVAC technician that I could find on the internet, and I didn’t do any extra research. In retrospect I should have made sure that the HVAC business was vetted, but I didn’t really care and I trusted them to do good work. I should have known something was up when the bill kept increasing each day the HVAC technician was there. What was supposed to be a simple installation of a new ductless AC unit, turned into a few weeks worth of work. I am not even really sure what they were doing because I was always at work and when I got home each day there was some note about a problem that occured and an extra charge that was added. On the last day the HVAC workers were there they left a note saying they were finished and that they would be charging my card. The cost that the left on the final bill was five times as much as they originally told me, so I called them back to ask why it cost so much for an air conditioner. I received a dial tone and when I looked online I couldn’t even find the HVAC technician anymore! It seemed that they disappeared and robbed me of my money, not to mention the AC unit didn’t even work.
