A state of emergency

I happen to work for a honey bee rescue service. What the group of us do is safely remove bees from properties and bring them to the local beekeeper. The bees then are safe and used for their honey. The people I was with and I definitely need more bees in the world and they are slowly dying. Did you know that over a fourth of the food you eat stems from bee pollination? The people I was with and I fail to realize the incredibly important work that bees do and how attractive honey truly is. The actual truth is that bees are disappearing due to GMO’s, insecticides, dust mites, careless pest control companies and viruses. All of these things are causing a bunch of honeybee deaths and the problem needs to be taken care of. Most homeowners are really just fine with our dealer doing a bee rescue. Every now and then I get a hardcore patron that wants full on bee extermination! It is our work to sway their decision into a favorable option for the bees. The last patron I had was definitely horrible though! He had a whole swarm in his dining room and was definitely all for killing the bees. I talked all about how honey bees are not as aggressive as most the others. The honeybees are seriously necessary for the environment. The person just didn’t care though and wanted them all dead. In the end, there was nothing I was able to do and I had to see the several fallen bodies of the group of bees. That was a single one of our hardest days on the actual job. It was terrible cleaning up the bees that could have made a difference in the world, or at the very least produced some fabulous honey.
