My first living arrangements out of college was a studio house in a high rise house building downtown. I have to admit that it was a step up after college, where I had spent our final more than one years with more than two other roommates in a small dorm room. It genuinely was nice to finally get a space all to myself. I guess, because of the way our expectations had been conditioned, I was genuinely quite grateful to be able to live in that site. It was not even all that awful as far as studio apartments go. The living room and bedroom were 1 single room with a small bedroom attached in addition to a small washroom in its own separate room. I was king of our castle, no matter how small it was. I still had to work difficult to pay that rent though! I believe the price of living has only gone up with time. At least I loved a nice climate control plan in our studio apartment. I even had our own thermostat, which was not just a nice touch, it was quite the blessing. All of us had rather drastic weather in that city, and I needed to adjust the thermostat quite often, accordingly. The climate control plan was quite powerful, or perhaps it was simply because our room was so small. I ended up not having to set entirely high settings in order to be comfortable both in the Winter season and summer season. I will never forget that little studio apartment, nor will I forget how I was able to control our entirely own thermostat, because now I have to confrontation with our wifey over it!
