A Hole in Our Ductwork:

My husband considers himself a handy-man around our house.

Seeing as he’s in finance at a massive corporation downtown, I’m not sure why he thinks he’s so handy all the time.

He’s never had any experience with building and fixing things. However, my dad is a carpenter, so he knows what he’s doing when it comes to power tools and repairs. Although I never compare my husband and dad, I’m assuming this is why my husband insists that he can fix anything and everything. I always try to hire a professional, but my husband is very insistent. As you can imagine, we spend a lot more money in the long run. When I noticed a hole in our ductwork the other day, I told my husband about it, and insisted that I call a professional. Fixing a leaky sink is one thing, fixing our HVAC system is another. Like usual, he wouldn’t budge. That weekend, he was in and out of the house trying to fix the hole in our ductwork. He came home with a brand new duct, but quickly realized that it was the wrong size. At first, I just let him do his thing, but I knew our ductwork would need to be serviced by a professional technician. By Sunday night, my husband was exhausted, and made absolutely no progress on repairing our HVAC system. If anything, he destroyed our ducts even more. Little did he know, I already scheduled an appointment with a nearby HVAC professional. I told them to be prepared for the worst when they arrived.
